"Sometimes the most happy people in life are the ones with nothing. We can't lose sight of the little things in life that should make us the happiest."
~ Ryan Cabrera
What if you had the opportunity to choose a day, at any point in your life, that you could relive? Now, lets suppose that you would have knowledge about what happened during the day, and, you could change things, not in major ways, but in subtle ways.
Knowing how the day will go would take a lot of pressure off. You wouldn't be so worried about outcomes and consequences. This would free you up to actually experience the day from a different perspective. It would allow you to notice all of the little things...the things that make life worth living.
Imagine taking the time to observe others as they move through life. Imagine noticing all of the delicious little details that make life worth living...a stranger's smile, a child's laugh, the way your neighbor dotes on his wife, even though she barely notices. You could notice peoples' reactions to you as you smile at them, or give them a compliment, or share a kind word.
There are so many little details that escape our notice as we are busy with the business of living and trying to stay afloat in our madly rushing world. It is these little details that make life worth living, yet we let them pass us by without giving them a though.
This is a nice concept...but imagine that you could choose only one day to go back and re-experience. Which day would you choose? Would it be a good day, a bad day, a special day? Each of us would choose a different day, for different reasons, but whatever the reason, most of us would choose to partake in this exercise.
Imagine what it would be like. Spend some time thinking about what it would actually mean to live in this way...to actually experience life to the fullest. I feel that it would be such a blessing.
So, my question to you is:
Why not live each day as if it is one that we chose to go back and live over again, experiencing it to the fullest? Why not live each day as a hand-picked day of wonder and awe?
We have the choice to do this. I am certainly going to take up this challenge...what about you?
