Inspiration: stop wallowing in self-pity

"Only as high as I reach can I grow,
Only as far as I seek can I go,
Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be."

- Karen Ravn

Have you ever felt that the world is against you? Have you ever felt that there is no hope? That you will never get through the challenges that you are facing?

We’ve all been there. We’ve all been through moments, days, or even weeks of self-pity. Every single one of us has had doubts. Every single one of us has had times when we have lost hope. Every single one of us has felt the despair that accompanies such feelings.

I am no different. I have times when I feel that it just isn’t worth it; I have times when I feel like giving up; I have times when I lose sight of the truly important things in life. But when I feel like that, I have a secret weapon. Today I will share that weapon with you.

Below is a YouTube video. I have the video bookmarked in my browser, just for those occasions that I allow myself the “luxury” of wallowing, even for a brief moment, in self-pity. This is the DVD Trailer for Nick Vujicic’s DVD...”No Arms. No Legs. No Worries!” I don’t want to spoil the video for you (although the title of the DVD might be a bit of a spoiler), so go ahead and click play.

Nick is an amazing young man, and watching this video, or any of the many others of him on always inspires me. I have never once watched any of the videos and kept a dry eye, and I certainly have never come away from watching Nick still feeling sorry for myself.

There are many sources of inspiration in the world. Not all of them speak to everyone, but I know that you will derive some inspiration from Nick.

Find your sources of inspiration...keep them handy...and use them whenever you start to lose hope, whenever you need a boost of hope, or just to raise your head above that little bout of self-pity.

To your health, prosperity, and happiness always.
